the pelican parade

This is something Todd Brozman and I co-wrote (he wrote most all of it) way back in January of 2004 on my typewriter in the house on Tennessee Street. I found this in a stack of papers while moving things around at my parents' house. Click on it to make it readable.

Being as I am the co-author of this piece, I take it as my responsibility to inform the public of recent developments. You will all be happy to know that in my most recent travel to the island in referance I found that they have recently aquired a modern bowling alley! Well modern in the sense that it includes polished hardwood floors, gutters, and real pins and balls. They still lack the video screens overhead that calculate your score and display fun animations. Instead, scores are calculated by the bowlers themselves on a tranparency that is then projected for others to see. You may remember them from bowling alleys about 5-10 years ago. But yes, this bowling alley is just one of the many luxeries that have come about with the island's recent embracement of commerce! This has also brought about other such splendors as resort hotels and fancy eateries. While the islanders' game has yet to notably improve, as most of those patronizing the bowling alley tend to be fair-skinned tourists, I'm sure they'll be rolling perfect games in no time! Can I get a gobble-gobble? Anyway, for anyone who wishes to visit, it's down the road from the hotel across from the Arby's. Rock 'n Bowl on Tuesdays.
